I understand how incredibly difficult it is to watch a pet age or face the heartbreaking loss of a pet. I want to be there for you, to offer support and comfort during these tough times. You are not alone, and I truly understand the pain of both physical loss and emotional grief.

My journey toward offering grief companioning was shaped by my personal experiences—With my background working in the veterinary field, I’ve witnessed families facing the heartbreaking decision to euthanize their pets. It was never easy. Later, as a client care representative at a pet crematorium, I spoke with grieving pet owners, offering comfort as they navigated their loss. Whether they were dropping off their beloved pet, attending a final viewing, or simply needing someone to listen, I was there. So often, people would apologize for crying, and I would reassure them—it’s okay to grieve. Our pets are family. I listened to their stories, looked at their cherished photos, and, many times, cried with them. I have been there with the loss of my own pets. My beagle Ashley that I grew up with. I could not stay in the room when they euthanized her. May cat Kacey that I held in my arms when they euthanized her. And, my Willow. My girl that had been with me through so many of life’s challenges. She was there with me through my divorce; she was my everything. It has been over 15 years, but I still miss her. And, most profoundly, the recent loss of my mother who I helped care for for the past 4 1/2 years. My family chose in-home hospice care for my mom, and the compassion and understanding I received from her caregivers deeply impacted me. It was during this time that I realized I wanted to offer the same level of support and compassion to pet parents who are going through the heartache of losing their beloved animals.

I have a passion for helping others, and it is this passion that drives me to offer senior canine massage therapy, Reiki for senior cats and grief support. My goal is to provide comfort, healing, and understanding, so that both you and your pet feel supported every step of the way.

If you accept that pets can love us as much as we do them, then the logic is clear and cannot be denied. If you believe that there is a heaven for people, then they must be there, waiting for us, when we cross over. Heaven is love, and pets always share that with us.

Pet Loss & Grief Companioning: Support for the Journey of Healing

Losing a beloved pet is one of the most difficult experiences a pet parent can face. Pets are not just animals; they are family, companions, and sources of unconditional love. Whether you are anticipating the loss of a pet or are grieving a recent passing, you don’t have to navigate this journey alone.

At Willow Paws Pet Services, I offer Pet Loss & Grief Companioning—a compassionate support service designed to help you through the emotional weight of pet loss. This is a safe, judgment-free space to express your grief, honor your pet’s memory, and find comfort in knowing your feelings are valid.
